Swimming with the Manatees

Let’s take a boat ride on the Homosassa River. Our reservations are at River Safaris, where we will board the boat that will take us to Homosassa Springs.  Here we will find Manatees who have temporarily left the gulf waters for the warmer Homosassa Springs. The water is a chilly 72 degrees year round; warm to the Manatees, but not to us. You may watch from the boat or get in the water with the Manatees.  We are not here to harass or chase the Manatees. However, you will find that the Manatees are tolerant, and some are even friendly and enjoy the attention.

Equipment is not necessary, but you may bring your own. Swimsuits and sunscreen, and then whatever you need for a 4-hour trip. This is NOT a nude swim.
