Scalloping Trip

We’ll all gather for breakfast at 9 a.m. at the SugarMill Restaurant (5446 Hwy. 19 S., Homosassa, Fl. 352-628-0800)

After breakfast it’s a short drive to Manatee Marina (10175 W. Fishbowl Dr) 10:00 A.M. to board our personal pontoon boat captained by non-other than Capt. Dale and head down the river to the Gulf of Mexico. Heading out further (about 6 miles). We’ll be looking for clear water and about 5 to 7 feet deep. Here you can snorkel for those tasty scallops.

All in all, it's just a fun day snorkeling for your dinner and making new friends. We should be back at the dock about 5:00 p.m. You’ll need mask, fins, catch bag, small net, and bucket (optional). Don’t forget your camera!

You will need a fishing license unless you are 65 or older.

Bring your own gear for snorkeling, wet suit if you need one, towel, maybe a floatie, sun glasses, something to drink and a snack to share would be nice. We will not be stopping at any restaurants for lunch so bring lunch and don’t forget your camera!
